Structuring Hong Kong

Structuring Hong Kong   |   1987   |   Oil on Canvas   |   137 x 183cm

The freely constructed scaffolding using the bamboo poles is a sharp contrast to the structurally systematic modern architecture. The contrast and combination of lines represents the differences between Eastern and Western cultures. Yet they coexist harmoniously, just as freedom and law coexist in Hong Kong. Yuk Fai has chosen this expressive technique to construct his view about Hong Kong.
